FASCIA, the key to your overall wellbeing...

Key to Physical  Well-being

Healthy fascia plays an important role in good posture, flexibility, mobility, optimal range of motion, injury prevention,  pain relief and increased body awareness. It facilitates efficient movement patterns that contributes to improved coordination and balance.

Key to Emotional Well-being

Fascia often stores emotional trauma, and maintaining its health can facilitate the release of stored emotions. This emotional release contributes to mental well-being by alleviating stress, anxiety, and promoting a sense of emotional balance.

Healthy fascia aids in reducing physical tension and stress within the body. As the fascial system relaxes, it signals the nervous system to calm down, contributing to an overall sense of relaxation and mental tranquility.

Fascia is the body's extensive network of connective tissue, forming a three-dimensional web that envelops and interconnects muscles, organs, and structures throughout the entire body from head to foot.

WHAT IS FASCIA AND WHAT DOES IT HAVE TO DO WITH YOUR WELLBEING?

What happens when we are feeling stifF...

...the tin-man effect

Fascia's  lubricating oil ("the oily bath") provides a frictionless surface for muscles to slide past each other without restrictions, resulting in a smooth, free motion. However when we are inactive, injured or not maintaining the health of our fascia,  the "oily bath" can have the opposite effect. Those lubricating oils can harden, effectively securing the ligaments, nerves, tendons inside the sheath, leaving you feeling stiff and old.

Tin Man (stiff and inflexible)
Fascia 3 -Functional-lines

The layers of fascia glue together, restricting movement, locking us in our poor posture.

The muscle fibers will become unable to contract and extend to their full range, losing strength and flexibility.
